Appointments

This information is correct as of 2/10/2023

What Happens when I contact you?

Appointment requests will be subject to clinical triage, to enable us to prioritise patients based on their clinical need. This means that you will be offered an appointment with an appropriate clinician if deemed necessary, within an appropriate timeframe for the symptoms described. It is therefore important to ensure you give detailed information on your PATCHS request.

Before requesting an appointment, please follow the self-care advice and read the detailed information about the many community services available as these may quickly provide the help you are looking for.

We strongly encourage patients to create a PATCHS account and submit electronic requests for appointments. This can be done via the “Request an appointment” tile on the home screen. For those that are unable to do this, or do not have internet access, our receptionists will be available on the phone to submit the same request on your behalf.

Appointments are triaged in to the following appointment time frames:

  • Book on day – Appointment on the same day
  • Urgent – Appointment within 3 days
  • Appointments available up to 4 weeks in advance.

Urgent Appointments

Urgent appointment requests should be submitted on PATCHS in the same way as routine requests, as early in the day as possible to enable the GP to triage the request and provide an appointment on the day if appropriate.

PATCHS is open between the hours of 7:30-16:00 to submit appointment requests each working day. If you require an urgent appointment and it is between 16:00 – 18:30 please call the practice for us to provide advice..

What Happens when I have submitted my appointment request via PATCHS?

All appointment requests are subject to clinical triage and will be dealt with in order of clinical priority. You should expect to receive a response within 2 working days for routine requests. Patients assessed as needing a review on the day shall be contacted to arrange an appointment that day or thereafter.

Chaperones

Are available upon request.
